Introduced·1/20/26
Introduced Text

Arizona HB2724 establishes a search and rescue special plate fund for supporting sheriffs' search and rescue responsibilities.

HB2724 amends Arizona law to create a search and rescue special plate fund. The fund is financed by a $25 fee for special plates, with $17 designated as an annual donation. The director of the Arizona Department of Transportation will administer the fund. The first $32,000 in the fund will be reimbursed to the person who paid the implementation fee. Up to 10% of the fund's annual deposits can be used for the cost of special plates. The director may allow requests for search and rescue special plates to be combined with requests for personalized special plates.
