Arizona HB2674 modifies section 13-106 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to address the dismissal of appeals and postconviction proceedings upon a convicted defendant's death. The court must dismiss any pending appeals or postconviction proceedings and may dismiss all remaining sentencing requirements. However, the defendant's death does not eliminate the criminal conviction or any restitution, fine, or assessment imposed by the sentencing court.
