Arizona HB2641 amends section 36-1696 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to prohibit the use of class B firefighting foam that contains intentionally added PFAS chemicals. This prohibition applies to individuals, local governments, and state agencies unless federal regulations require otherwise. Class B firefighting foam is defined as foam designed to extinguish fires involving flammable liquids. PFAS chemicals are perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a class of fluorinated organic chemicals with at least one fully fluorinated carbon atom.
