Arizona HB2518 amends section 45-412 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to allow the director to designate subsequent active management areas. These areas are necessary when active management practices are needed to preserve groundwater supply, prevent land subsidence or fissuring, or address water quality degradation. The director must periodically review areas not in active management to determine if they meet the criteria for such designation.
