Arizona HB2106 amends county excise taxes to allow a transportation excise tax for transportation projects. The tax rate is capped at 20% of the transaction privilege tax rate. It applies to businesses, electricity and natural gas consumption by retail customers. If approved by voters, the tax can be levied for up to 20 years. Revenues are deposited in the regional transportation fund or public transportation authority fund, depending on the county's population.
