Arizona HB2085 prohibits gender transition procedures for minors, including surgeries and hormone treatments.

Arizona HB2085 prohibits health professionals from providing gender transition procedures to minors, including irreversible gender reassignment surgeries and hormone treatments. Public monies cannot be used for these procedures. The act also prevents state or local facilities and employees from providing such procedures. The Arizona health care cost containment system cannot reimburse for these procedures. The act allows minors to sue for violations and provides for attorney fees for prevailing parties. The act takes effect on March 31, 2027.
