Alaska SB62 revises the board of parole membership, terms, and reporting requirements. The board now consists of seven members appointed by the governor, including a licensed physician, psychologist, or psychiatrist; a victim of a crime, family member of a victim, or member of a crime victims advocacy group; a member with experience in drug or alcohol addiction recovery; and a member of a federally recognized tribe. Members serve staggered five-year terms and may not serve more than two terms.
