HB210

Officer/firefighter: Disability/work Comp

Chamber Passed·5/6/26

Alaska HB210 increases occupational disability benefits for peace officers and firefighters.

HB210 amends Alaska's occupational disability benefits for peace officers and firefighters. Initially, the monthly benefit is 40% of the employee's gross monthly compensation at the time of termination due to disability. After 12 months of eligibility, the benefit increases to 75% of the employee's gross monthly compensation. The bill also ensures that a disabled member becomes fully vested in employer contributions made under AS 39.35.750(a) at the time of appointment to disability.
