The Alabama Rural Emergency Medical Services and Volunteer Fire Department Study Commission is created to conduct a comprehensive review of emergency medical service delivery in rural areas. The commission will evaluate the structure, availability, and service coverage of rural ambulance services and EMS providers, the role of volunteer fire departments, financial sustainability, workforce challenges, and coordination with rural health care providers.
