This bill amends the Code of Alabama to extend the minimum validity period of motor vehicle license plate designs from five years to a longer period. The Commissioner of Revenue, with approval from the License Plates Legislative Oversight Committee, may authorize a license plate design to be valid for more than five years. The bill also includes provisions for the design, manufacture, and distribution of distinctive license plates, including requirements for sponsoring organizations and the Department of Revenue. The changes will take effect on October 1, 2025.
