Alabama SB185 amends the Code of Alabama to authorize transit authorities to participate in business organizations relating to transit operations, land acquisitions, and other activities incidental to the operation of the authority. The bill allows these authorities to create, establish, acquire, operate, or support subsidiaries and affiliates, either for profit or nonprofit. It also permits the authorities to make or arrange for loans for business activities. The bill specifies that business organizations with which the authority participates shall not have the power of eminent domain.
