He married Minnie Worley, had a son and grandchildren, and was a dedicated member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Donald graduated from Westfield High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked at U.S. Steel Corporation before retiring. He also owned Jones Upholstery, known for his excellent work.
