Alabama House Resolution 13 recognizes Mountain Brook Police Officer Richard Knecht for his dedication to school safety and receiving the Safe Schools Leadership Award. Officer Knecht, who has served as the School Resource Officer for Mountain Brook High School for over eight years, was honored for his leadership and commitment. The award was presented at The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers Conference in 2025. Officer Knecht has also been recognized as a TAASRO School Safety Specialist and was part of the elite SRO Team Award for the Mountain Brook Police Department.
