H.J.Res.261

Commonwealth National Bank, celebrated

Prefiled·3/18/26
Int Text

Alabama HJR261 honors Commonwealth National Bank's 50 years of service to the Mobile community.

Alabama HJR261 celebrates Commonwealth National Bank's 50 years of service to the Mobile community. The bank, originally known as The People's Bank, was founded to provide financial services to those excluded by discriminatory lending practices. It has loaned over $500 million to support families, small businesses, and nonprofits. Today, it remains one of the few Black-owned and operated national banks in the U.S. The resolution commends the bank's founders, directors, officers, and staff for their contributions and current leadership for continuing to invest locally.
