Alabama HB640 permits state-supported public institutions of higher education to accept the Classic Learning Test (CLT) for college readiness and admissions, on par with the American College Test (ACT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). This authorization is determined by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and individual boards of trustees. The act takes effect on June 1, 2026.
