Extends municipal enforcement of speed limits to include a municipality's police jurisdiction.
This bill amends the Code of Alabama to allow municipal law enforcement officers to enforce speed limits within both the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of a municipality. Previously, enforcement was limited to the corporate limits. The changes apply to all speed limits set under the authority of the bill, effective October 1.
