Alabama HB536 revises the compensation for the sheriff of Henry County, setting a base annual salary of $94,000 starting from January 18, 2027. The bill also provides an eight percent increase in salary for each successive term the sheriff serves. The sheriff will receive all benefits provided to employees of the Henry County Commission but will not be eligible for any increases in compensation under Chapter 2A of Subtitle of Title 11, Code of Alabama 1975. The act repeals Section 45-34-230, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the compensation of the sheriff.
