The Alabama Good Samaritan Wildlife Rehabilitation Act permits individuals to provide care to injured, orphaned, or debilitated wild birds and animals that are not federally protected or endangered. The animal may be returned to the wild if certain conditions are met, such as a maximum care period of six months (three years for beavers) and returning the animal to the general area from where it was collected.
