Allows disabled voters to designate a designee to deliver their absentee ballot application and ballot to the absentee election manager.
This bill amends Alabama law to allow a disabled voter to designate an individual to deliver their absentee ballot application and absentee ballot to the absentee election manager. The bill defines "disability" as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities of the voter. The designee can hand deliver the return mail envelope to the absentee election manager or send it by U.S. mail or commercial carrier. The bill also makes nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
