Establishes a process for adjoining city boards of education to consolidate into a single school.

This bill provides a process for two or more adjoining city boards of education in Alabama to form a consolidated school. It allows the boards to create a consolidated school by resolution, defining its territory and arranging for student transportation. The governance and control of the consolidated school will be vested in the city board of education of the city where the school is located. The bill also requires the State Board of Education to adopt necessary rules for implementation. The consolidation does not relieve any board of education of prior obligations or impair existing rights.
