Lamar County revises its process for disposing of personal property through auctions, allowing online auctions and changing public notice.
Lamar County amends its process for disposing of personal property, equipment, or other items by allowing both in-person and online auctions. The county commission can now sell items via online auctions without needing to publish public notices. For in-person auctions, the county must still advertise for four consecutive weeks in a countywide newspaper and once in a statewide newspaper. All proceeds from the sales go to the district fund or the county's general fund. The changes also include technical updates to the existing code.
