ICE is building a domestic surveillance program called ERO ONE, aimed at people living on American soil. The Constitution protects us from unreasonable searches. That line should not be crossed in the name of immigration enforcement. ICE already has an investigations unit with a similar function, so the question is plain: who exactly will these new agents be spying on? Mass surveillance does not make communities safer. It chills free speech. It discourages people from lawfully assembling. It builds databases that any future administration can misuse. And the damage to civil liberties lasts long after the political moment that created the program has passed. Neighbors, protesters, and families should not have to wonder whether their own government is watching them. Congress controls the money and the rules for this agency. Block ERO ONE and cut off funding for ICE's domestic surveillance of people on American soil.
