Ukraine is fighting an invasion. Russia is the aggressor. Ukraine is the victim. Any policy that pressures Ukraine by threatening to withhold the military and intelligence help it depends on does not pressure Russia. It punishes the country being attacked and rewards the one that started the war. Ukrainian civilians are being bombed, and every cut to the tools that defend them can cost lives. This is bigger than one country. If borders can be redrawn by force and aggression pays, the damage will not stay in Ukraine. It will reach every alliance the United States depends on and every ally who counts on our word. A free people has the right to decide its own future. America should stand with those defending that right, not make them bargain for their own defense. Restore full military and intelligence support to Ukraine and stop rewarding Russian aggression.
